But beware of household products that can be harmful to your health and also to the environment. This year, opt for spring cleaning under the sign of ecology.

Our advice for a 100% natural household

For a good spring cleaning, it is not mandatory to have a specific product for each room. The secret is to have multi-purpose and eco-responsible cleaners. To create these products, you will need 5 essential ingredients to mix according to the recipes:

  • White vinegar
  • Black soap
  • The clay stone
  • The lemon
  • Baking soda

Be careful because some mixtures can cause a chemical reaction, this is the case for white vinegar and baking soda.

To clean your floors: Black soap (natural degreaser), to which we add water, white vinegar and a few drops of essential oils (your choice according to your tastes).

To clean your windows: In a spray bottle or in a bowl, mix 75 cl of cold or lukewarm water with 25 cl of white vinegar. After spraying the mixture on the glass, rub with a cloth until the traces have completely disappeared.

For laundry, nothing better than Marseille soap! Cut small pieces of your soap, mix it with baking soda and water, and hop an ecological detergent!

Finally, to unclog your pipes: Make a cocktail of baking soda with white vinegar! Leave on for a few minutes then rinse.

The 4 steps to follow

The first step is to ventilate and deodorize, let the sun come into your home by opening the windows wide for a few hours, a natural and effective method. In terms of air fresheners, favor natural and organic products such as clay or Armenia paper, which naturally absorbs odors.

The second step is to store, sort without wasting! Take advantage of this great spring cleaning to get rid of products that you no longer need. We start with the kitchen, check your cupboards and free yourself from your collection of expired products.

This is also the time to think about a new organization like buying products in bulk. To store your pasta, rice and lentils, you can make recovery. with compote glass jars, aesthetic and ecological storage.

In your bedroom, it's time to update and sort out your wardrobe, avoid throwing away as much as possible by offering or selling your clothes.

Third step, cleaning, as explained at the beginning of our article, after clearing a little space, it's time to get down to business! The best option is to make your cleaners yourself with healthy and ecological products. But you can also opt for eco-labeled cleaning products.

Fourth and last step, make a list of items to remember such as small nooks, first dust the sockets and switches with a dry cloth, then remember to move your furniture to remove the dust ( often accumulated) behind.

Cleaning of water features

Let's move on to the kitchen, on the appliance side to make it look like new again, use white vinegar diluted with water.

To degrease your microwave, heat a bowl filled with water and lemon juice for 5 minutes. Let's go to the oven, dusting the walls with baking soda and always white vinegar, let it act for several minutes before rinsing! Regarding the refrigerator, take a cloth, lukewarm water and white vinegar.

In the bathroom for your cleaning, use the same tools as for your fridge. You can also use a spray. And to restore the shine of white to your bathroom joints, use an old toothbrush dipped in a mixture of water, lemon and coarse salt. Well, that's it !

After all these efforts, head for the deckchair for a well-deserved rest!
